Which is right for you?
- Antibody Test– A blood sample will be collected. This sample will determine if you have been exposed to COVID-19 and have developed immunity to the virus. The test looks at your immune response and does not detect the infection. It is detecting the antibodies that develop in the body following exposure to Coronavirus. Positive results may be due to past or present infection with non-SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus strains, such as coronavirus HKU1, NL63, OC43, or 229E. This test is not intended to diagnose COVID-19.
- Antigen Test- A special swab is gently inserted into your nose and/or mouth to take a sample. This sample is used to determine if you are sick or have an infection from COVID-19. This is a diagnostic test to be used if you are having symptoms of COVID-19.
Symptoms of COVID-19 are expected to appear 1-14 days following viral exposure. Primary infection is characterized by the presence of detectable IgM antibodies 3-7 days after the onset of infection.
