Without doubt, the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted the lives of most people on Earth, including travelers.
Once taken for granted, travel – both domestic and international – is now viewed by many people as a potentially harmful activity that may lead to broad transmission of coronavirus, the virus that causes COVID-19.
To combat the spread, many airlines, U.S. states and countries are requiring travelers to prove they are not infected before boarding aircraft or crossing borders.
Fit-To-Fly medical certificates, which also are known as Fit-To-Travel certifications, are travel health forms that verify travelers have taken a COVID-19 test and that the results came back negative.
Thailand, Austria, Iceland and even the states of Connecticut and Massachusetts are some of a growing number of locations requiring travelers to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test before being allowed entry. Travelers without this certification can be denied entry or required to quarantine for 14 days, in some cases in government-provided lodging.
Failure to comply can result in significant fines.
Even some airlines are requiring passengers to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test before being allowed to board. Those not able to show proof of a negative test result can be prevented from boarding until a valid document from a medical provider is produced.
At Passport Health Los Angeles, we offer both COVID-19 testing and Fit-To-Fly medical certificates to travelers and the general public. Call us today at to schedule an appointment to get tested and COVID-19 cleared for takeoff.

What is COVID-19 Fit-To-Fly certification?
COVID-19 Fit-To-Fly certification is a travel health form that proves a traveler received a negative COVID-19 testing prior to boarding an airplane or seeking entry to a state or country that requires one.
Does certification require a specific type of COVID-19?
It can depend. But the most common test required is a RT-PCR test that identifies three different genes in the disease. The RT-PCR is widely viewed as the most comprehensive, currently available test today.
Do you offer the RT-PCR test?
Yes. For more information on our COVID-19 testing, please see our COVID-19 testing page.
How much does the test cost?
Please call us at for current pricing.
What does certification require?
Fit-To-Fly certification generally requires travelers to show proof of negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test results up to 72 hours before arrival. This can vary by destination. Check with your airline or your destination’s governing health or entry agency for specific requirements.
