The findings also help explain how the Omicron variant spread so quickly. Despite its relatively mild symptoms, Omicron leaves more remnants behind that promote infection. Though they are numerous, these remnants are less powerful than those of other strains. Omicron fragments cannot kill as many critical immune cells.
