Do I Need a Visa for France?
No, you do not need a visa when traveling to France as long as you will stay in the country for less than 90 days. Stays of over 90 days for even tourist or business purposes will require a visa. However, your passport must be valid for at least three months past your estimated departure date from France. If your passport is not valid for that amount of time, you may be denied entry into France. France is one of the 26 countries in the Schengen area, and all of these countries have the same aforementioned visa and passport requirements. Be aware that these countries take passport requirements very seriously, and you could be denied boarding of your airplane or not allowed to enter your destination if your passport is not valid for enough time. To be safe, we recommend that all travelers to France carry a passport that is valid for at least six months from the date of departure from the US.
