Do I Need a Visa for Rwanda?
Yes, a visa is required for travel to Rwanda. A yellow fever vaccination may also be required depending on your specific itinerary.
Most visas to Rwanada last 90 days, but can be often be renewed or extended.

What Do I Need for a Rwanda Visa Application?
Countries often require different items for different visas. The application process may differ depending on the type of visa you’re obtaining.

Other visas available in Rwanda include an East African Tourist Visa, which is a visa that is valid in Rwanda, Uganda, and Kenya.
The Rwandan government is allowed to change this process at any time and is allowed to request additional materials during the visa process.
When applying for a Rwanda Tourist Visa, you need a passport, photograph, driver’s license, proof of travel, forms for minors, and the actual application itself.
Each one of these items have specific requirements that must be met.
Passport:
- Be valid for the next six months
- Contain at least one blank for the visa stamp
Photograph:
- Taken within the last three months and printed on high-quality photo paper
- Taken against an all white background
- Be two inches by two inches
- Provide the full frontal view of your head with neutral expression
Proof of Travel:
- Ticket or itinerary that displays your round trip travel and entry and exit dates for your destination
- Show the traveler’s full name as printed on passport
Passport:
- Be valid for the next six months
- Contain at least one blank page for the visa stamp
Photograph:
- Taken within the last three months and printed on high-quality photo paper
- Taken against an all white background
- Be two inches by two inches
- Provide the full frontal view of your head with neutral expression
Business Cover Letter:
- Business Cover Letter must include your specific purpose of travel
Letter of Invitation:
- A letter from your host, sponsor, or company in Rwanda
- Lists dates of stay
- Must include purpose of visit
- Must include legal name, matching the name on your passport

How Much Do Rwanda Visas Cost?
Rwanda visa fee amounts can vary, but are often under $100. This price is subject to change at any point as the Rwandan government may change these costs at anytime.
The money paid for the visa fee does not include service fees levied by the Rwandan government, cost of postage, processing etc.
Are Any Vaccines Required for Rwanda?
Proof of yellow fever vaccination is required for travelers entering from regions with yellow fever transmission. This may extend to recent travel as well.
