Do I Need a Visa for Laos?
A visa is required in order to enter Laos. Fines will be imposed on U.S. citizens who overstay their expired visas. A valid passport is also required to get into the country. If you attempt to enter Laos without your passport and visa, it’s possible you will have to face the consequences of detainment, fines, or deportation.

What Do I Need for a Laos Visa Application?
There are some documents you will need to get your visa. A passport, passport photo, visa form, a business letter, and a letter of invitation are the required documents for a tourist and business visa.
The tab bellow will give you more information about one of the types of visas you will need.
In addition to a completed application form, the following items are required:
Passport:
- 6 months validity
- 1 blank visa page
- Must not be damaged or changed
Photograph:
- Two colored photos taken in 3 months on quality paper
- Has to be taken against white background
- 2×2 inches
- Face must be facing front with neutral expression
- Not headwear or eyeglasses are allowed accept for religious purposes
Business travelers must submit the following with their Laos visa application.

- Mention the number of entries you want for your visa

How Much Do Laos Visas Cost?
The cost of a visa may vary depending on where you apply for your visa, the type of visa you plan to get, and the additional fees. Costs can range from $20 to $50.

Are Any Vaccines Required for Laos?
Proof of yellow fever vaccination may be required if arriving from a country where the virus is present. No other immunizations are required for Laos at this time.
But, some vaccines are recommended including: Japanese encephalitis, typhoid and hepatitis A.
