Do I Need a Visa for the Dominican Republic?
A tourist visa is not required for travelers staying for 30 days or less.
Tourists will need a passport to be valid at the time they enter the Dominican Republic. If you’re planning to travel to the Dominican Republic, you must keep in mind that you will be charged a tourist fee that will be attached to your airline. A tourist card may also be required, and it is valid for one year from the day you receive the card.

What Do I Need for a Dominican Republic Visa Application?
If you plan to stay more than 30 days in the Dominican Republic, you will need your visa application form, your passport with a picture, a photocopy of your hotel reservation, flight, and a visa application letter. For a business visa, you will have to meet some of the same requirements as the tourist visa.

Travelers visiting for tourism must have a visa. The following items must be submitted along with a completed application.
Passport:
- Must be valid for time spent in the Dominican Republic
Photographs:
- Have to be 2X2 inches with a white background
Proof of Travel:
- Requires photocopies of your hotel itinerary and flight information
Visa Application Letter:
- Comes from beneficiary and is addressed to the Consular Section
- Involves name, nationality, place you’re staying, job occupation, and purpose of travel
Travelers to Dominican Republic must submit a completed application along with the following to obtain a visa:

A Resident visa is required if you plan to have a more permanent stay in the Dominican Republic. It is valid for 60 days, and you must meet all the requirements to obtain this visa.
If you’re planning to get your education in the Dominican Republic or was accepted to one of their schools, you will need a Student visa. It must be renewed each year and meet all the requirements.
A Business visa for employment is another visa you may have to apply for if you plan to work in the Dominican Republic long term. You will have to renew this visa and with this visa you can obtain a driver’s license and a bank account.
