Do I Need a Visa for Egypt?
A tourist visa and business visa are required for travel to Egypt. A 6 months validity on your passport is also needed for travel. An e-visa is another option for people who prefer to apply for a visa online.

What Do I Need for an Egypt Visa Application?
You will need your passport with a photo, an application form, proof of travel, and a business cover letter in order to obtain your visa.
If you’re planning to apply online for a visa, you can visit the Egypt Visa website. This e-visa allows travelers to stay up to 30 days and valid for a 3-month period.

Travelers to Egypt must submit a completed application along with the following to obtain a visa:
Passport:
- Must have 6 months validity
- Needs to have one blank page for entry stamp
Photographs:
- Need 2 copies
- Must be 2×2 inches with a colored photo and a plain background
Visa Application Form:
- Must be filled out completely and correctly
- Signature has to be original
Proof of Travel:
- Copy of travel itinerary
- Copy of plane ticket that has the entry and exit dates for Egypt
Travelers visiting for business must have a visa. The following items must be submitted along with a completed application.
Passport:
- Must have 6 months validity

- Must be on a letterhead
- Presents applicant, shows applicant’s job title, and shows why you are visiting Egypt
- Needs to show who will be responsible for you financially as well as contact information
Transit and Missionary visas may be obtained when you meet some of the same requirements as the Tourist and Business visas. You can apply for the e-visa online.

How Much Do Egypt Visas Cost?
The cost of the tourist and business visas depends on where you go to apply for your visa. Prices start around $25 and can vary based on visa duration and type. Costs do not include processing or service fees.
Are Any Vaccines Required for Egypt?
Proof of yellow fever vaccination is required if you are arriving from a region with the disease. Travel vaccinations like typhoid, rabies and hepatitis A are recommended for most travelers.

All Americans visiting Egypt should register online with the US State Department before departure. This will inform the office of your travel plans within the country and will allow them to reach out in the case of an emergency or evacuation.
