Yes, a visa is required for travel to Nepal. Visas are normally valid for 90 days, but can be extended.

What Do I Need for a Nepal Visa Application?
As with many countries, Nepal has very specific requirements for submitted a Nepal visa. Requirements often vary based on the type of visa required.
The Nepal government may change this process at any time and is allowed to request additional materials during the visa process.

When applying for a Nepal Tourist Visa, you need a passport, photograph, and the actual application itself.
Each one of these items have specific requirements that must be met.
Passport:
- Be valid for the next six months
- Contain at least one blank page for the visa stamp
Photograph:
- Taken within the last three months and printed on high-quality photo paper
- Taken against an all white background
- Be two inches by two inches
- Provide the full frontal view of your head with neutral expression

Proof of Travel:
- Ticket or itinerary that displays your round trip travel and entry and exit dates for your destination
- Show the traveler’s full name as printed on passport

How Much Do Nepal Visas Cost?
Visa fees for Nepal vary based on the type of visa applied for. Costs can range from $25 to over $100 depending on the specifics of a trip. These costs can change at any time based on decisions made by Nepal’s government.
While visas can be obtained at entry, it is best to have one ahead of time to avoid problems when traveling to the region.
The money paid for the visa fee does not include service fees levied by Nepal’s government, cost of postage, processing etc.
Are Any Vaccines Required for Nepal?
Proof of polio vaccination is required for entry to Nepal. Proof of yellow fever vaccination may also be required if you are traveling from a region with the illness or have recently visited there.
