Do I Need a Visa for Côte d’Ivoire?

A visa is required to enter Côte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast) for all U.S. citizens.

You are able to apply for both tourist and business visas online.

Your visa is valid for three months after it is issued. With a visa, you can stay in the Ivory Coast for 30 days. The Côte d’Ivoire government may require extra materials from business travelers and/or provide less time in-country.

You will not be able to extend your visit on your visa. You will have to apply for a whole new visa.

Proof of return or onward travel may be required for your visa. It may also be required when entering the country.

What Do I Need for a Côte d’Ivoire Visa Application?

Depending on which visa you’re applying for, the documents you need may be different. A business visa can require different documents than a travel visa.

The Côte d’Ivoire government may change this process at any time and may request additional materials during the visa process, so make sure you are always prepared and up-to-date.

At a minimum, all Côte d’Ivoire Visas will require: a passport, yellow fever vaccination card, and flight information. Minors may be required to have additional items.

Each one of these items have specific requirements that must be met. Keep in mind that these requirements can change quickly and may differ based on your specific situation.

Travelers to Côte d’Ivoire must submit a completed application along with the following to obtain a visa:

Passport:

  • Be valid for the next six months
  • A scanned copy of your Passport

Photograph:

  • A recent passport size digital photo

Proof of Travel:

  • Address of where you’re staying
  • Flight and booking information

Other:

  • International Yellow Fever Vaccination card for proof of yellow fever vaccination

Travelers visiting for business must have a visa. The following items must be submitted along with a completed application.

Passport:

  • Be valid for the next six months
  • A scanned copy of your Passport

Photograph:

  • A recent passport size digital photo

Proof of Travel:

  • Address of where you’re staying
  • Flight and booking information
  • Business Introduction Letter or Invitation letter

Other:

  • International Yellow Fever Vaccination card for proof of yellow fever vaccination

A U.S. visa for Côte d’Ivoire costs anywhere from $60-$110. The Côte d’Ivoire government sets visa fees and can change them at any time. Do note, visa costs do not include service or processing fees.

There may be extra fees due to the Côte d’Ivoire government, postage, and processing.

Are Any Vaccines Required for Côte d’Ivoire?

Proof of yellow fever vaccination is required for entry to Côte d’Ivoire. All travelers over 9 months of age must be vaccinated to enter the country.

Some additional vaccines are recommended including: typhoid, hepatitis A and cholera.
