NYC & LI Area Travel Health Specialists Laura Vasallo Laura graduated from Suffolk Community College in 1989 with a degree in Nursing and has been working in a local hospital since graduation. She became involved in providing flu vaccination clinics for the local community through the hospital and became interested in preventive medicine. When Laura joined Passport Health in 2009 it gave her the perfect opportunity to apply her interest and knowledge for preventive medicine and wellness.Laura enjoys teaching clients all the different things that they need to know to keep themselves safe when they travel abroad. Laura is a member of the American Travel Health Nurses Association and The International Society of Travel Medicine and she uses their resources to keep her knowledge of Travel Health up to date and current. Elizabeth Patton Elizabeth graduated from Adelphi University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She has previously worked in various areas of nursing at Mount Sinai Hospital. She has experience in dialysis and home health nursing as well. Elizabeth has always enjoyed the teaching aspect of nursing. She loves travel, and has enjoyed combining teaching with travel since joining Passport Health in 2005. Jennifer Campbell Jennifer started nursing as a second career. She previously graduated from Vassar and worked in the pharmaceutical industry before returning to school at the University of Utah where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She started doing flu & immunization clinics during nursing school and continued after graduation, as vaccinations are a cause she is dedicated to. She also worked in labor& delivery and women’s health. She enjoys patient &health education, public health, and the study & prevention of disease. Lindsay Virdee Lindsay received her Nursing degree from Columbia University School of Nursing. She has prior experience working in a cardiology office. Lindsay also enjoys working with children and has worked throughout Manhattan in pediatric clinics. Lindsay enjoys traveling and experiencing different cultures. She enjoys meeting new clients, finding out where their next adventure is going to take them, and helping them prepare for their travels. Nicole Rothman Nicole received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Columbia University after working in clinical trials. In addition to healthcare she is passionate about travel, which is why Passport Health is a great setting for her to engage with patients. Nicole’s favorite part of traveling is to learn about new foods and cultures while gaining an appreciation for different ways of life. Alison Collier Alison has been working for PPH New York since 2014. Originally from Denver Colorado, she earned her undergraduate degree from the University of San Diego, earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing with honors from the University of Colorado, and earned her FNP from Columbia University (also with honors). She has traveled to over 30 countries and has lived in Australia, New Zealand and Ireland. Jessica Wilk, RN Jessica Wilk graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Science in nursing. She also received a Bachelor of Arts in English from SUNY Binghamton. Jessica worked in advertising at a technology company for five years before enrolling in nursing school as a second-degree student. Her nursing repertoire includes working at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, school nursing, working in private offices as an RN, and wellness clinics. Jessica’s love for cultural heterogeneity as well as understanding the responsibility of a healthcare professional’s contributing efforts to public health causes prompted her to join the NYC Passport Health team as a travel health consultant. In her spare time Jessica can be found blogging about new medical advances and technology.
