Sandra O’Brien, PhD, RN, CRNP-F, PHCNS-BC
Travel medicine is a good fit for Dr. O’Brien. She gained international travel experience while accompanying her career diplomat spouse around the world. Dr. O’Brien filled positions as a staff nurse with the Army hospital in Seoul, South Korea, the Acting Head Nurse at the American Embassy in Bonn, Germany, and resource nurse to the American Embassy in Bern, Switzerland.
After settling back in the United States Dr. O’Brien completed her Family Nurse Practitioner and Public Health Clinical Nurse Specialist degree and her PhD in nursing at The Catholic University of America. She has an interest in disaster preparedness and is enrolled in three disaster response organizations. She is also interested in vaccinology, including mass vaccinations in response to disease outbreak and disasters. She has training as a chemical and biological first responder.
Her duties at Passport Health include quality oversight of the Baltimore satellites and conducting physical examinations, including pre-deployment, pre-employment, pre-participation sports physicals, and Department of Transportation physicals.

Laurie joined Passport Health in November 2012. She is a proud mom of a wonderful son and daughter. Laurie was born and raised in Baltimore but has also resided in Florida for quite a few years. In her spare time she enjoys reading, biking and spending time outdoors.
