Flu Protection

This year the Influenza vaccination will combine the seasonal(H3N2) strain and the H1N1 strain into 1 shot. Passport Health is currently booking on-site flu clinics for the 2010-2011 flu season.

At Passport Health we want you to stay healthy this flu season. We also understand how important your employees, students, and family members are to you, and why it is important for them to be protected. Staying healthy during flu season means fewer lost days at work, fewer children missing school, and fewer family members home sick and in need of care. How can Passport Health help you stay healthy? It’s all about flu shots!

Flu season may only be in the public’s eye a couple of months out of the year, but at Passport Health we plan for it year round. We begin in early January planning our vaccine purchasing and we monitor the manufacturing process throughout the year. This gives us the advantage of delivering flu clinic programs to corporations, schools, churches, families and international travelers. We track delays in manufacturing, delivery dates, flu strain changes - all to insure we deliver the right vaccine to the right people at the right time. With over 160 locations nationwide, Passport Health works to make sure we have the right flu vaccine you need to stay healthy.

Why is it important to get a flu shot?

Flu is a contagious respiratory disease that can cause mild to severe illness, and at times can lead to death. Flu symptoms can include fever, cough, chills, sore throat, headache, and muscle aches. Every year in the United States alone there are more than 200,000 people hospitalized from flu complications and more than 36,000 deaths. Being protected against the flu is important to everyone’s health as well as keeping employees, students, international travelers, the elderly and young children safe. This acute, highly contagious disease can present itself one (1) day before symptoms begin and up to five (5) days after becoming sick. That means you can pass on the flu to someone else before you know you are sick as well as while you are sick.

The best way to avoid the flu is by getting a flu shot each year. Optimum immunization in the United States is from mid-September through early January. Influenza is prevalent in tropical areas throughout the year. Therefore, flu immunization should be updated prior to any tropical or Southern Hemisphere travel. About two weeks after vaccination, antibodies develop that protect against the virus. Flu vaccines will not protect against flu like illnesses caused by non-influenza viruses. It is also important to note that you cannot get the flu by being vaccinated, as it is not a live virus vaccine.

Flu Immunizations for Businesses

Corporations lose millions each year because their employees become ill. Absence due to sickness causes lost time and slowed productivity. Most importantly, ill employees suffer pain, discomfort, even lost wages--sometimes needlessly.

Influenza, one of the most common seasonal illnesses, is easily prevented with a vaccination. The vaccine is very effective, but needs to be repeated annually. Make it a policy to have your employees vaccinated every year. The benefits to your employees and your company can be measured in performance.

Our specially trained nurses will come to you, so there's no need to send employees to inconvenient hospitals or clinics. And our superior standard of service ensures that your personnel will be well-cared for. Call Passport Health for your corporate flu immunizations today, before the season starts.

Flu Clinic Services
Flu season may only be in the public's eye a couple months out of the year, but at Passport Health we plan for it year around. We begin in early January planning our vaccine purchase, then monitor the manufacturing process from all three of the major manufacturers. If there are delays or some other issue, we know it sooner than most. As a network of over 120 offices nationwide, we work together to make sure we have the vaccine we need, when we need it.

If you plan a Flu clinic with Passport Health, we can deliver. We are one of the few health providers to have met all our obligations over the last several years. We stay in constant communication with you to make sure you are up to date on our progress. And, we always bring additional doses, should you have more attendees than expected.

We can also bring the Tetanus, Hepatitis B or Pneumonia vaccine on site, which is highly recommended by the CDC for those over 50 years of age, as well as,  Flu Mist, the nasal spray version of the flu vaccine,  if requested. We encourage you to invite family and friends to your clinics, especially children. It is important to realize that in many instances, the children are the carriers of the virus. By protecting them, you can protect everyone.

Payment Options
We have several payment options to choose from. They include:

  • Direct bill to the office or company,
  • Employee payment at time of service,
  • Or a combination of the two.

One of our more popular options is our Voucher System. This allows you to purchase a guaranteed number of vaccines which we then pull out of our open stock at the time vaccine arrives in our offices. We can use the vouchers either at a clinic as previously purchased, OR your staff can visit any of our convenient locations at their convenience.
