Founded in September 2002, Passport Health Cincinnati is the 42nd franchise of Passport Health. Aletha W. Tippett, MD, a Cincinnati family physician, brought Passport Health to Cincinnati to address the need for high quality travel health and vaccination services. Dr. Tippett frequently had patients who were traveling internationally and asked her advice on travel and vaccinations. Even though Dr. Tippett trained at University of Cincinnati Family Medicine, which had a strong international medicine track, she never felt she could adequately address her traveling patients’ needs – until she saw the brochure from Passport Health. Passport Health offered exactly what she wanted her patients to have in terms of counseling and vaccinations, so she purchased the franchise and opened the door for business in September 2002.

Even though it was late in the year, the Cincinnati Passport did several thousand flu vaccinations for companies and saw their first traveler in October 2002. The business started out with part-time employees in one small room of Dr. Tippett’s Blue Ash, Ohio office. The business grew steadily, requiring more space and staff.

In 2005 Dr. Tippett moved Passport to larger offices in Blue Ash with multiple rooms and ample space. The Blue Ash office has remained the headquarters as Passport expanded to include 3 conveniently located offices in West Chester, Anderson, and Ft. Wright, KY. Staffing has also grown and now includes a nurse manager, 4 travel consultants, and 2 Customer Service Specialists.

From a small beginning in 2002, Passport Health Cincinnati continues to grow and offer increased services to the greater Cincinnati area with:
  • Flu shots and wellness clinics for area companies, churches, and organizations
  • Travel health counseling and immunizations for business, leisure, and mission travelers
  • Access to hard to find vaccines
  • Clinical trials
Our mission continues: To provide our clients with the highest level of service, offer them the most up-to-date travel medicine advice and to use the latest technology to simplify their travel health and vaccination needs.
