Immunization Nurse

Job Location:Nationwide

Immunization Nurse (RN, LPN, LVN) or Lieutenant (Immunization Nurse who is prepared to assume the Program Manager role should it become necessary.

General Purpose of Position: The immunization nurse provides vaccination to program participants under the supervision of a program manager and in accordance with protocols.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review protocols and participate in on site instruction facilitated by the program manager.
  • Utilize proper nursing process to provide immunizations in a safe and effective manner.
  • Adhere to protocols promoting safety, infection control and universal precautions.
  • Ensure the proper handling of all sharps and medical waste, as instructed in the on site training.
  • Promptly report and medical errors or exposure incidents to the program manager.
  • Respond to medical emergencies according to protocols, under the supervision of the program manager, and completing all corresponding paperwork.
  • Carefully reviewing screening questions with participants and completing the “nurse to complete” section accurately and legibly.
  • Providing friendly, efficient and safe service to the participants and the client.

Qualifications/Requirements for this position:

  • Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse. Current license in good standing in the state in which the program is held.
  • Current CPR
  • ER or Critical Care Experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to respond to emergency situations including anaphylactic reactions
  • Superior interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated professionalism and excellence in nursing practice
